Finding Your Current Location

This tool answers a simple question — where am I right now? — and gives you the answer in every format you might need: your latitude and longitude in decimal degrees, degrees-minutes-seconds (DMS), and as a Google-style Plus Code, plus your nearest street address, all pinned on an interactive map.

Precise vs approximate location

  • Precise (GPS): when you allow location access, your browser uses GPS, Wi-Fi and cell signals for accuracy down to a few metres.
  • Approximate (IP): if you decline, we estimate your location from your internet connection. It's city-level accurate and clearly labelled — no permission needed.

Your precise position never leaves your device except to look up an address if you request it. Nothing is stored.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I find my current location coordinates?

Open this page and allow location access when your browser asks. It reads your device's GPS/Wi-Fi position and shows your latitude and longitude in decimal, DMS and Plus Code formats, plus your approximate street address on a map.

What happens if I don't allow location access?

The page still works. If you decline, it falls back to an approximate location based on your internet connection (IP address) and clearly labels it as approximate. You can also type any address or coordinates to look them up manually.

Is my location data sent anywhere?

Your precise GPS position stays in your browser. It is only used to look up a street address (reverse geocoding) if you ask for one. We do not store or log your location.

Why is my location slightly off?

Accuracy depends on how the position is obtained. GPS is accurate to a few metres; Wi-Fi and IP-based location can be off by tens of metres to a few kilometres. If the pin looks wrong, make sure location permission is granted for the most precise result.

What is my address based on my coordinates?

Once your latitude and longitude are known, the page reverse-geocodes them into the nearest street address using the free LatLng API and shows it below the map.
